The Ministerial Team of Root of Jesse Ministry International are individuals that have been called by God, they are being broken or are broken, and walk after the spirit and not after the flesh.
Apostle Rene' Hood was born in Wash., D.C., where she received her childhood education. She holds a BA in Christian Studies and was inducted into the International Honor Society (Phi Theta Kappa). She has two biological children (De'Nina Rene' and Joshua Emmanuel). She has also assisted in rearing 26 foster children. Rene' was called to the gospel ministry in 1978. Licensed as a minister of the gospel in April 1983, she subsequently was ordained and given full rights of performance in the ministry in 1998.
She has counseled in the prisons for more than 20 years and has resided as Chaplain over the North East Region (New Jersey) Buffalo Soldier Chapter.
She has a passion for the people of God and a special assignment to those incarcerated and women. The Lord has used her both here and abroad.

On July 4, 2004, Rene' Hood was consecrated as an Apostle of Jesus Christ. But if you ask her, she will tell you that she is only God's handmaiden and a servant to His sheep.
Dexter R. Stanton was member and Deacon of Higher Ground Church of God in Christ, for 10+ years, before coming back east and onboard to Root of Jesse International Ministry in the compacity as Vice President
His work and activism are known throughout the state of Minnesota and his name is recognized at every level of government in the state of Minnesota from city hall to the governor's office. Dexter’s proactive, results orientated leader, with 30 plus years of experience working in Non-profit organizations advocating at the federal, state, and local levels on issues ranging Social Justice, Homelessness, Returning Citizens, Community Engagement, Community empowerment. Bring stakeholder to the table to work on collective issues that build stronger individual to build stronger Communities
•Serve as mentor and one-on-one career counselor for clients with chemical dependency and mental health issues with focus on setting and accomplishing goals and schooling
•Implemented the service learning in partnerships with local college which benefited both the student and the client and promoted a healthy learning experience for them both
•Organized volunteers and community members to create the first Martin Luther King Jr. Speech-a-thon fundraiser; funds were raised while working along with other agencies to promote community building
•Engaged with the community and businesses to offer second chances for residents by mirroring accountability, efficiency, and commitment to the greater good for all.
•Operated housing for sober living, along with sponsoring life skills session for clients/ residents.
•Advocacy for second chances within housing needs, by building clients/residents expectations of self and working to rebuild their credit and community trust through community partnerships; building self-esteem, which build better families, which builds a better community
DerShaun Blanding (Administrative) was introduced to ROJ in 2006 when she began attending services in her hometown Bellevue, NE. At that time of transition in her life, God used Apostle Hood and ROJ to rein her in closer to Him into deeper relationship. Since that time, DérShaun has served ROJ in various administrative capacities. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Management and a Master of Business Administration. Her spirit to serve allows her to use her gifts in every environment and situation into which she is led. Her testimonies of God’s grace and favor in her life drive her to continually seek Him to be used for His purpose and to share His goodness with others. She now resides in Rock Hill, SC with her best friend and husband and their three boys, 16, 11, and 7.
Pastor Richard DuQueis a native of Oakland, California. He is married to the love of his life, the former Melissa Hicks and he has an awesome son, Richard DuQue, III.
Richard has a BA/MA in Ministry and Christian Counseling/Psychology, with Honors; Magna Cum Laude.
He became a Deacon in 1996; Minister w/ license in 1999; Consecrated as Pastor in 2004.
Rev Mitchell D. Tull: Was ordained as a Deacon for Berean Baptist Church May 2002. Accepted calling as a Minister for Berean Baptist Church Jun 2004; Ordained as Rev for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Berean Baptist Church Oct 2009; Completed Seminary Training at the United Baptist College and Seminary Baltimore Md. Oct 2011. Joined Agape Deliverance Ministry—Millersville Md. Oct 2015, as an Associate Minister, Spiritual Gifts are Preaching, teaching, Exhortation and healing. Married to Min Lana A. Tull, three children, with six grandchildren.
